Helicopter Airframe Mechanic (MWO)

Performs modification (MWOs) to major structural componets at a DEPOT or advanced level of understanding and skill level. Works with engineering teams to verify and/or validate newly developed procedures. Fabricates, replaces, modifies and installs aircraft parts and major structural components. Works with hazardous materials utilizing appropriate personnel protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to work with minimal supervision while adhering to Contract Field Team Standard Operation procedures
Removes, repairs, fabricates, replaces, modifies and installs aircraft parts and major structural components. Plans, lays out, cuts, bends, forms, shapes, fits, drills, reams, installs fasteners, assembles and installs sheet metal parts and airframe structural members. Works with close tolerance dimensions and various types of fasteners using common hand tools, special instruments and pneudraulic tools. Repairs flight control surfaces, engine cowling and performs fuel cell/tank maintenance. Performs organizational, intermediate and depot level structural modification and repair using engineering drawings, safety procedures, military specifications, standards and maintenance manuals in performance of assigned tasks. Documents work performed on aircraft forms, records and Contract Field Team workbooks.
Working Conditions: May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.

Experience: Must have a minimum of three years experience on UH60/CH47/AH64D as a Structures mechanic
Qualification: Completion of Military Technical Training or comparable Civilian Trade School is desired.
Certification: Must be certified to perform tasks specified in L-3 Vertex Contract Field Team Standard Operating Procedures Manual if required to perform those tasks.
Experience on Military helicopters required.

50% TRAVEL
MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 0600-1430
Overtime may be required
