We have an immediate opportunity at the Tobyhanna Army Depot for a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to perform a range of design, development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision:

Design products or systems in support of facilities' infrastructure, research, or maintenance requirements; coordinate, troubleshoot, and approve installation activities as inspection services to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications; collaborate with Quick Response design team to create solutions for integration of CREW (Counter Remote IED Electronic Warfare) systems on mine resistant armor protected (MRAP) vehicles and command shelters; provide sheet metal (punch press, laser, bending die), machining center (mill, lathe, water jet), and welding shop floor support; create Materiel Masters, BOMs, and Routes using Army Logistics Modernization Program (ERP System; Lean Manufacturing implementations in engineering design and injection rubber molding processes and extensive use of Pro/E software to create solid and sheet metal parts.

- Acts as a lead on less complex tasks and is responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review; generates complete design specifications of more complex projects; coordinates and works closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements; research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.

- Develops, maintains and produces technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications; interfaces with customers at all levels: design reviews, technical working groups, and final design and test activities; conducts site visits and experimental investigations, analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations; solves average electronics engineering problems with little technical guidance; interprets military drawing standards/specifications, as well as government process for ordering parts; documents work efforts, to include Test Procedures, Engineering Change Proposals, specifications/standards, etc.
You will communicate verbally and in writing with engineers, technicians, management, and customers regarding technical solutions; prepares technical reports and papers concerning results and findings of studies and presents findings to management, engineers and shops personnel; interacts in a team environment with a diverse technical work force.
